About Doug
Doug Fabian began his 28-year investment career in 1979 as a market analyst for the Telephone Switch Newsletter - the mutual fund review his father started in 1977. He gained essential experience in a series of positions in the 1980’s, including Director of Marketing, Co-Editor and Senior Editor. Doug succeeded his father Dick as President of Fabian Investment Resources in 1990.
He is currently the President of Fabian Wealth Strategies, a Registered Investment Advisor specializing in exchange traded funds. Fabian believes that retirement assets must be managed for growth, income and safety. He specializes in the areas of exchange traded funds and variable annuities. ETF’s are the fastest growing investment vehicle in the financial services industry. He is a big advocate of variable annuities and believes that they are the most under utilized growth and income tool in investors portfolios today.
Doug presents his keys to successful investing in a variety of forums. He regularly appears at seminars around the country and hosts one of Southern California’s most popular investment radio programs, “Doug Fabian’s Wealth Strategies”. He stands out on the pages of the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, Orange County Register, and appears nationally on CNBC-TV, Fox News Channel, and on KTLA-TV in Los Angeles.
In the fall of 1999, Doug became a member of the “Smart Money 30″ – a listing of the most influential individuals in the mutual fund industry. In the feature, Smart Money exclaims that Doug is the best known “trend follower” among the $56 billion (and growing) group of financial advisors.
